Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my child need therapy?

Every child is unique.  Each child responds to therapy differently and at various speeds.  What is important is that you commit enough time to therapy to not only see results, but establish new patterns and skills.

Will you customize your therapy for my child?

We customize our approach for each child to target specific speech-language delays or disorders.  We often will adjust our strategy as we become more familiar with the child’s ability to learn and grow.

How do I get my child started with Speech-Language Therapy?

The simplest way to start is with a free phone consultation.  The next step is to do a screening or a full assessment.  A screening is an informal analysis that identifies a child’s strengths and weaknesses.  An assessment uses a standardized test that compares your child to same-aged peers.  On our phone consultation, we can decide which approach is more appropriate.  Whether a screening or an assessment, the results provide a valuable foundation for developing a therapy plan for your child.
